아동기 정서적 외상과 대인관계문제의 관계 : 거부민감성과 부적응적 인지적 정서조절의 매개효과

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 아동기 정서적 외상과 대인관계문제의 관계에서 거부민감성과 부적응적 인지적 정서조절의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 구체적으로 아동기 정서적 외상의 하위유형인 정서적 학대와 정서적 방임이 대인관계문제에 미치는 차별적인 영향력을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 전국에 거주하는 초기 성인기 376명을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS Statistics 26과 경로분석을 사용하여 분석하였다.
본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동기 정서적 학대가 공격형 대인관계문제에 미치는 직접경로가 유의하였고 아동기 정서적 방임이 고립형 대인관계문제에 미치는 직접경로가 유의하였다. 둘째, 아동기 정서적 학대와 공격형 대인관계문제의 관계를 거부민감성이 부분매개 하였고, 아동기 정서적 학대와 순응형 대인관계문제, 고립형 대인관계문제의 관계를 거부민감성이 완전매개 하였다. 셋째, 아동기 정서적 학대와 대인관계문제의 관계에서 거부민감성과 부적응적 인지적 정서조절의 순차적 매개효과를 확인하였다. 반면, 아동기 정서적 방임과 대인관계문제의 관계에서 거부민감성과 부적응적 인지적 정서조절의 순차적 매개효과는 유의하지 않았다.
본 연구의 의의는 아동기 정서적 외상인 정서적 학대와 정서적 방임의 차별적 역할이 초기 성인기의 대인관계문제로 이어지는 심리적 기제에 대한 이해를 제공했다는 데 있다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 아동기 정서적 외상을 경험하고 대인관계문제를 호소하는 내담자를 위해 본 연구가 가지는 상담 장면에서의 함의 및 제한점과 후속 연구에 대해 제언하였다.

This study aims to investigate the mediating effects of rejection sensitivity and maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation on the relationship between childhood emotional trauma and interpersonal problems. Specifically, this study sought to examine the differential effects of two subtypes of childhood emotional trauma, emotional abuse and emotional neglect, on interpersonal relationships. To this end, an online questionnaire survey was conducted with 376 young adults residing across South Korea. Data were analyzed using SPSS Statistics 26 and path analysis.
The main findings are as follows. First, the direct path from childhood emotional abuse to aggressive interpersonal problems and the direct path from childhood emotional neglect to detached interpersonal problems were significant. Second, in testing the significance of the mediating effects, rejection sensitivity showed partial mediation of the relationship between childhood emotional abuse and aggressive interpersonal problems and demonstrated complete mediation of the relationships of childhood emotional abuse with compliant interpersonal problems and detached interpersonal problems. Third, in examining the significance of sequential mediating effects, rejection sensitivity and maladaptive cognitive emotion control sequentially mediated the relationship between childhood emotional abuse and compliant, aggressive, and detached interpersonal problems. Meanwhile, there were no sequential mediating effects of rejection sensitivity and maladaptive cognitive emotion control on the relationship between childhood emotional neglect and interpersonal problems.
This study is significant as it contributes to our understanding of the psychological mechanisms that underlie the differential effects of childhood emotional abuse and neglect on interpersonal problems in early adulthood. Drawing from these results, this study discusses the implications and limitations of counseling sessions for patients experiencing interpersonal problems following experiences of childhood emotional trauma. Additionally, we propose avenues for follow-up studies.
