This article study theoretical base for the Won-Buddhism elderly welfare work under the premise 'The religion's role in social welfare'.
In Korea society, the Won-Buddhism which starts as Korean popular religion in modern times, has played an important part about 'The religion's role in social welfare' together with some existing religious. Welfare service connected with the Won-Buddhism are 6 social welfare corporations, affiliated 15 organizations and about 50 institutions to take an active part in various sections.
In this situation, Won-Buddhism elderly welfare service has developed as variety and professional welfare work by the nation welfare policy. This article is centering around elderly welfare facilities data and related literature of Won-Buddhism. and on the whole frame construct like this ; the relation between religion and social welfare, changing process of Won-Buddhism elderly welfare, its present condition, elderly welfare idea as well as practical idea and the question in elderly welfare.
