In recent years, as firms move to outsourcing, globalization, lean and JIT inventories, supply chain has become more vulnerable to supply disruption than ever before. The implication of supply chain failures can be costly and lead to significant customer delivery delays, therefore managing risk has become a critical component of supply chain management. In this study, we analyze risk factors in supply chain through a review of literatures and take an holistic view of risk management. Finally, we propose further research directions on supply chain risk management.
