This paper describes the development of a tire design program for the parametric-feature modeling method using CAA V5; a component development tool of CATIA V5. A parametric-feature modeling method Is required to design with expanded sizes of tires. Therefore, we develop the standard template library that Implements a parametric method using a geometric constralnt, a formula, and a design table which Is supported In CATIA V5. Also, we develop the tire pattern recognition and geometry constraint features of the component based on using CM V5.<br/>
Using this program, tire design time Is reduced by 50 to 70 percents compared to an existing design process. Moreover, It Increases the work efficlency and decreases the geometry translation error because styling, engineering, and CAD designs are operated In the same pc-windows workspace.<br/>
