자몽종자추출물 첨가한 비누의 향균력 효과 분석 = Analysis of Antibacterial Effect of Soap Added with Grapefruit Seed Extract

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study analyzed the use of products containing grapefruit seed extract and the antibacterial activity and skin irritation response of the prototype. To confirm antibacterial properties, a test was conducted at the Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR). Log reduction (LR) for microorganisms was over 5 for Staphylococcus aureus and 1.75 for Bacillus cereus, showing high antibacterial activity. In particular, it was found to have high antibacterial activity against S. aureus. In addition, after applying grapefruit seed extract to soap, a primary skin irritation human application test was requested to Derma Cosmetics Co., Ltd.’s Dermatology Research Institute. As a result, the skin irritation index was 0.000, showing no irritation. The soap prototype using grapefruit seed extract applied here is expected to be of great help in the use of skin-related products based on its antibacterial properties.
