초임교사의 실천적 지식 학습전략과 그 과정에 미치는 교사조직의 문화적 특성에 관한 사례연구 = The Case Study of Novice Teachers’ Learning Strategies to Acquire Practical Knowledge and Cultural Characteristics to Affect their Learning Process: In the Region of Northern Illinois in the U. S.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 초임교사들이 학교현장에서 실천적 지식을 습득하기 위해 활용했던 구체적 학습전략이 무엇이며, 또 이 과정에서 영향을 끼친 조직문화는 무엇인지 탐색하여 교사교육의 개선에 기초적 자료를 마련하는 것이었다. 본 연구는 미국 북일리노이지역의 K-6 경력교사들을 대상으로 실시한 질적 사례연구이다. 경력교사들이 자신들의 경험을 반성적으로 회상한 내용을 분석한 결과 초임교사들은 실천적 지식획득을 위해 안내된 학습과 반성적 학습, 실천적 학습, 그리고 개인별로 타고난 내재적 능력으로부터의 학습전략을 이용했다. 또한 그들의 학습과정에 영향을 끼쳤던 요소는 교사조직의 문화(학교기관적 문화와 교사들의 성향, 교사직무의 특성)였으며, 이 문화적 특성들은 긍정적·부정적으로 작용하였다. 본 연구는 교사교육에 관한 연구문제가 국제적 이슈로 대두되고, 교사의 직무수행의 일반적 특성을 고려한다면 한국의 교사교육에 시사하는 바가 크다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine novice teachers’ learning strategies to acquire practical knowledge and cultural components to affect their learning process. This study conducted in a north-central region of Illinois, U. S. A., and In-depth interviews with 18 experienced K-6 teachers provided the main source of data in this case study. The findings of this study that resulted from these participants’ reflections on their learning strategies when they were novices were guided learning, reflective learning, learning-by doing, and personality. The participants described the catalyst and barriers from teachers’ organizational cultures which were categorized by institutional culture, teachers’ dispositions, and nature of teacher tasks. Although this study shows the cases of U. S. context, the findings of this study provides some implications to Korean teacher education.
