청소년의 친구관계와 자아존중감이 스마트폰 중독에 미치는 영향 = Impact of Adolescent Peer Relationships and Self-esteem on Smartphone Addiction

국문 초록 (Abstract)

최근 2~3년 동안 휴대폰의 급격한 기술 발달은 ‘스마트폰’이라는 새로운 문화 도구를 만들었으며, 그 영향력은 ‘스마트폰 중독’으로 확대되었다. 스마트폰이 청소년들의 커뮤니케이션 수단으로 자리하고 있는 현재에 스마트폰 중독은 행동 중독 현상의 하나로 나타나고 있다. 다시 말하면, 청소년들이 스마트폰 사용에 지나치게 집착하게 되는 중독 행동을 보이면 스마트폰은 더 이상 언어소통을 위한 도구가 아니라, 청소년의 삶을 지배하는 수단이 되어 버리는 것이다. 가족과의 대화가 단절되고, 스마트폰 사용이 아닌 취미활동이나 학교생활에는 소홀해지는 것이다. 인터넷 중독처럼 스마트폰 내에서의 인간관계에만 집착을 하게 되어서 정상적인 성격형성이나 인간관계 형성 또한 어렵게 된다.

본 연구는 청소년 중에서도 중학교 1,2,3학년을 대상으로 하여 친구관계와 자아존중감이 스마트폰 중독에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 대구광역시와 경상북도에 재학 중인 중학생 610명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, SPSS 20.0을 이용하여 설문지를 분석하고 검증하였다. 조사대상을 중학생으로 선정한 이유는 청소년의 초기단계로 본 연구에서 보고자 하는 자아존중감과 친구관계가 신체적․심리적 변화를 겪으면서 구체적으로 형성되는 시기를 중학생으로 보았기 때문이다.

청소년의 스마트폰 중독수준에 대한 분석 결과 자아존중감이 스마트폰 중독에 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인하였으며, 성별, 스마트폰 사용 후 인터넷 사용시간 경감유무, 스마트폰 하루 사용시간, 스마트폰 사용에 대한 부모님 태도가 스마트폰 중독에 유의적인 영향을 미치고 있음을 각각 확인하였다.

본 연구의 주요 결과를 요약하면 스마트폰은 휴대폰의 기능과 PC의 기능을 복합적으로 가지고 있는 도구이며, 스마트폰 중독이란 청소년기에 보여지는 인터넷 중독, 게임 중독과 비슷한 성격을 가진 새로운 개념의 중독현상임을 알 수 있다. 중독현상의 하나로서 스마트폰의 중독 수준은 높아지고 있으며, 자아존중감이 낮은 청소년일수록, 특히 남학생보다는 여학생일수록, 스마트폰 사용시간이 길수록, 부모님의 잔소리와 같은 간섭이 심할수록 스마트폰 중독 수준이 높아진다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

본 연구결과는 청소년의 스마트폰 중독에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓히는데 중요한 자료가 될 것이며, 청소년이 바람직한 스마트폰 사용 방향을 인식하게 되는 계기를 마련할 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 청소년 복지에서 문제시 되고 있는 스마트폰 중독에 대한 예방과 치료를 위한 기초자료를 제시해 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

 This study among adolescents in middle school for grades 1, 2, 3, and self-esteem and peer relationships smartphone investigate the effect of addiction. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do middle school students enrolled in a survey of 610 people was conducted, SPSS 20.0 and analyzed by using the questionnaire was verified.
