대구미래학교 운영에 대한 초등학교 학부모의 경험 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 자녀가 대구형 혁신학교인 대구미래학교에 재학 중인 초등학교 학부모를 대상으로 그들이 학부모로서 어떤 경험을 했는지를 질적연구를 통해 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 미래학교의 학부모 10명을 대상으로 심층 면담을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 연구 참여자들은 자녀가 미래학교 교육 활동을 통해 공동체 의식을 함양하고, 자신을 성찰하고 타인에 대해 건전한 도전 의식을 갖는 등 긍정적으로 성장하는 모습을 목격하였다. 그러나 일반적인 입시 교육과는 달리 여유 있는 자기 주도적 탐구를 강조하는 미래학교의 교육 활동이 자녀가 앞으로의 입시 경쟁에서 뒤처지게 하거나, 학생의 학업 능력이나 가정 배경에 따른 교육 격차의 확대로 이어질 것을 우려하였다. 또한 미래학교의 교육 활동 운영 주기와 교원 인사이동 주기의 불일치 문제, 미래학교 운영에 대한 학부모의 참여 제약으로 인해 미래학교의 장기간 지속 가능성에 대해 의문을 가지기도 했다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 미래학교의 교육 방향과 미래학교 운영 관련 학부모의 존재적 의미 성찰의 필요성 등에 대해 논의하였고, 미래학교의 효과적 운영 방안에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aimed to examine the experiences of parents of elementary school students attending Daegu Future School, a type of innovative school in Daegu, through qualitative research. In order to achieve this, in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 parents of future school students. The research findings revealed that participants witnessed positive aspects such as the cultivation of a sense of community consciousness and the development of reflective self-awareness and healthy challenge towards others through their children's educational activities at the Future School. However, concerns were raised regarding the potential for Future School's educational activities, which emphasize leisurely self-directed inquiry rather than conventional entrance exam-focused education, to disadvantage children in future competitive entrance exams or to widen educational disparities based on students' academic abilities or family backgrounds. Additionally, doubts were raised about the long-term sustainability of Future Schools due to issues such as the mismatch between the operating cycle of educational activities and the personnel rotation cycle of teachers, as well as constraints on parental involvement in Future School operations. Based on these research findings, the necessity for reflection on the existential significance of both Future Schools themselves and the presence of parents within Future Schools, as well as the need to consider whether future schools are flowing into another form of standardized education, was discussed. Furthermore, implications for effective operation strategies of Future Schools were suggested.
