인바운드 국제관광과 경제성장의 관계에서 지역 간 경제수준 차이의 조절효과 = The Moderating Effect of Regions with Different Economic Levels between Inbound International Tourism and Economic Growth

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 중요성이 높아지고 있는 인바운드 국제관광이 경제성장에 미치는 효과를 분석한다. 또한 이론적 및 실무적으로 중요하게 부각되는 인바운드 국제관광이 경제성장에 미치는 영향에서 경제수준이 상이한 지역의 조절효과를 분석한다. 본 연구의 목적은 중국에서 경제수준이 높은 지역과 비교하여 경제발전이 뒤처진 지역의 인바운드 국제관광이 경제성장에 기여하는 효과를 분석하는 것이다. 연구목적의 달성을 위해 두 개의 고정효과 다중회귀분석을 사용하여, 1993년부터 2017년까지 기간 동안 4개의 직할시와 5개의 소수민족자치구를 포함한 31개 성을 대상으로 499개의 관측치를 분석하였다. 다중회귀분석은 인바운드 국제관광을 독립변수, 경제성장을 종속변수, 그리고 경제수준에 차이가 있는 지역(연안지역과 내륙지역)을 조절변수로 사용하였다. 또한 경제성장에 미치는 영향 요인이 될 수 있는 기타 요인을 통제하기 위해, 외국인직접투자, 고정자산투자, 정부지출, 도시화율을 통제변수로 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과 인바운드 국제관광은 전반적으로 경제성장에 유의하게 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 인바운드 국제관광이 경제성장에 미치는 영향에서 경제수준에 차이가 있는 지역은 유의하게 긍정적인 조절효과를 나타냈다. 즉 경제수준이 앞선 연안지역보다 경제발전이 뒤처진 내륙지역에서 인바운드 국제관광이 경제성장에 미치는 효과가 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 경제발전이 늦은 저개발 지역은 인바운드 국제관광에 우호적인 환경을 조성하여 지역에 적합한 정책, 투자, 관리를 통해 인바운드 국제관광의 경제성장 유도 효과를 극대화할 수 있다는 것을 시사한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to compare the effect of inbound international tourism on economic growth in different groups of regions with different economic levels in China. This study adopted fixed effects regression models, using 499 province-year observations composed of 31 provinces from 1993 to 2017. This study employs inbound international tourism as main independent variable and regional dummy(coastal and inland regions) as moderating variable. Also, economic growth is included as a dependent variable. The results of this study show a positive and significant effect of inbound international tourism on economic growth on the national level in China. And regions with different economic levels have a positive and significant moderating effect between inbound international tourism and economic growth. Based on this result, regions with lower economic development level can optimize the effect of inbound international tourism on boosting economic growth through the adequate implementation of policies, investment and operation in favor of developing inbound international tourism.
