말더듬 성인의 읽기속도에 따른 말더듬 빈도와 조음속도 비교 = Comparison of Stuttering Frequency and Articulation Rate According to Reading Rate of Stuttering Adults

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the stuttering frequency and difference of articulation rate of stuttering adults according to their reading rate. A reading task was presented to 15 stuttering adults and they were instructed to read at a normal rate of speech and a fast rate of speech. As a result of this study, firstly, there was no significant difference of stuttering frequency according to the normal speech rate and the fast speech rate. Some subjects stuttered more during the normal speech rate and some subjects stuttered more during the fast speech rate. Second, there was a significant difference of the articulation rate according to the normal speech rate and the fast speech rate. All subjects had a higher articulation rate in the fast speech rate than in the normal speech rate.
The above results showed that the cause of non-fluency of stuttering cannot be limited only in the pressure of the time. In the future, the various studies are needed to find out the cause of non-fluency of stuttering.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 말더듬 성인집단을 대상으로 읽기속도의 조건에 따른 말더듬의 빈도와 조음속도를 비교함으로써 시간압박이 말더듬인의 비유창성에 미치는 영향을 보고자 하였다. 말더듬으로 진단받은 성인 15명을 대상으로 평상시 일반속도와 명료도를 유지하면서 가능한 빠른속도로 읽기과업을 수행한 자료를 토대로 말더듬 빈도와 조음속도를 분석하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 정상속도와 빠른속도 간 말더듬 빈도에는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 둘째, 정상속도와 빠른속도 간 조음속도에 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 따라서 이 연구의 결과는 말더듬인이 구어산출을 위한 운동협응에서 시간압박이 증가할수록 일관적으로 비유창성이 증가한다는 가설을 일관되게 지지하지는 않는다. 이는 말더듬인들의 조음속도가 유의하게 증가하였음에도 불구하고 비유창성 빈도에 유의한 차이가 없었으므로 향후 연구에서는 비유창성을 설명하는데 구어산출시간의 복잡성 이외의 요인을 모색하기 위한 다양한 접근이 이루어져야 할 것이다.
