<AbsText> THE SPORT I HAD IN MALAGASH DAT with my flag-lieutenant would make a Highlander's mouth water. We generally spied the ground from the highest elevation, aud, if there were any beasts in sight, proceeded to stalk them; but if not, we drove the woods, posting ourselves in the most likely passes. Sometimes the stags would break back, and take over the high ridges into other valleys, but occasionally they would come forward to the guns. One day, whilst spying the ground from a high ridge overlooking the valley, Numa and I were preparing to move on, having seen nothing, when seven stags came out of a wood and crossed the valley. apparently making tor the opposite side. </AbsText>
