폴리돌판 <적벽가>를 통해 본 관우 위엄 대목의 존재 양상과 그 의미 = The Existential Aspect and Significant of Gwanwuwuieom-passage from the View of Polydor`s Joekbyekga

국문 초록 (Abstract)

1935년경 SP로 제작된 폴리돌(Polydor)판 <적벽가>에는, <삼국지연의> 제45회분에 나오는, 주유 진중으로 들어간 유비가 위험에 처하나 관우의 위엄으로 무사하게 되다(이하 `관우 위엄` 대목)는 대목이 축약·개작된 형태의 사설로 김창룡에 의해 불리어지고 있는데, 이 대목은 판소리계 소설 <적벽가(화용도)>의 일부 이본에는 보이지만 현전하는 같은 작품의 모든 창본에는 보이지 않는 것이다. `완판83장본`의 `관우 위엄` 대목은 원본 차입형으로, <삼국지연의>의 해당 부분을 거의 그대로 옮겨 놓은 것이다. `32장본`의 `관우 위엄` 대목은 원본 축약형으로, <삼국지연의>의 해당 부분을 대폭 축약하여 실었으나, 그 축약이 어떤 의미를 지닌 것 같지는 않다. `40장본`·`42장본`·`45장본`·`유일본`의 `관우 위엄` 대목은 축약·개작형으로, <삼국지연의>의 해당 부분을 축소하여 가지고 왔으나, `관우 위엄→공명 차전`의 서사 전개를 `공명 차전→관우 위엄`으로 개작한 것인데, 이는 폴리돌판 <적벽가>와 같은 유형이다. 이 `관우 위엄` 대목의 작품 내부적 위상을 고구하면, 서사 진행의 개작을 통한 촉한 정통론의 보강, 관우의 역할 강화를 통한 영웅상 부각, 동 대목의 삽입 자체로 얻는 서사적 합리성으로 정리된다. 한편으로 이 대목의 산출 시기는 19세기 중후반 쯤으로 보이는데, 김성옥(純祖朝)-김정근(哲·高宗朝)-김창룡(1872~1943)으로 이어지는 중고제 가계에서 19세기 중후반에 활약했던 김정근이 창작하였을 가능성이 높다. 이 대목의 연행 전승은 김창룡이 제자를 두지 않아 정통 중고제 소리의 맥이 끊어짐으로써 단절되었다. 19세기 중엽 현전 작품 후반부를 중심으로 하는 <화용도타령>이 전반부를 덧붙이며 <적벽가>로 전환하는 과정에서, 관우와 조조의 대립구도(<화용도타령>)가 공명과 조조의 대립구도(<적벽가>)로 변모해 가는 큰 흐름이 있었다는 점을 부정할 수는 없다. 그러나 이 같은 변모사적 과정이 일률적으로 `공명과 그의 출중한 지략`을 강화하는 쪽으로만 전개된 것은 아니고 `관우와 그의 장한 의기` 역시 강화되는 추세였다고 할 수 있는데, 본고에서 다룬 `관우 위엄` 대목도 이러한 추세에 부합한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In Polydor`s Jeokbyeokga manufactured with SP in 1935, Yubi enters the ranks of the Jooyu and runs into danger but is safe attributed to Gwanwu`s dignity(the same Gwanwuwuieom passage as above) passage showed in 45th part in <Samgukjiyeoneui> is editorial abbreviated and remaked, which is sung by Kim Chang-ryong, this passage is showed in a different version of Pansori origin Soseolbon <Jeokbyeokga(Hwayongdo)> but is not showed in all Changbon of the same work. Gwanwuwuieom passage of `Wanphan 83 Jang bon` is borrowing original, which is almost same with the part of <Samgukjiyeoneui>. Gwanwuwuieom passage of `32 Jang bon` is abbreviating original, which abbreviated the part of <Samgukjiyeoneui>, however the abbreviation of the part is seem to be meaningless. Gwanwuwuieom passage of `40 Jang bon`, `42 Jang bon`, `45 Jang bon`, `Yoo Ill Bon` is abbreviating and adapting original, which is brought the part briefly, but remaked `Gwanwuwuieom->Gongmyungchajeon` development to `Gongmyungchajeon->Gwanwuwuieom` development, which is a same form with Polydor`s Jeokbyeokga. Studying this Gwanwuwuieom passage`s internal status in detail, it is organized as reinforcement of Chokhan authentic theory through adaption of narration, emphasis of heroic aspect through reinforcing Gwanwu`s role and narrative rationality through inserting same parts. On the one hand, this passage`s born time seems to late 19th century. And of Joonggoje`s family line that Kim Seong-ok->Kim Jeong-geun->Kim Chang-ryong(1872~1943), Kim jeong-geun who were active in late 19th is the most possible man made Gwanwuwuieom passage. This passage`s transmission was cut off because Kim Chang-ryong didn`t train pupils and authentic Joonggoje`s femily line was cut. In the mid-nineteenth century, Adding first part to Hwayongdotaryeong and Changing Hwayongdotaryeong to Jeokbyeokga, no one can deny that there were stream changing from Gwanwu and Jojo`s opposition(<Hwayongdotaryeong>) to Gongmyoung and Jojo`s opposition(Jeokbyeokga). However, this changing process was not all opened out to highlight of `Gongmyoung and his unsurpassed resourcefulness` uniformly. `Gwanwu and his strong chivalrous spirit` was also reinforced trend. And Gwanwuwuieom passage treated in this manuscript is in the trend as well.
