This study is to find out the possibility of traditional market use as a tourist attraction. This study analyzes the traditional rural market en route to tourist areas. All in all, 684 questionnaires were distributed to the 408 on-site tourists and 276 households respectively.
The results of the survey show that if the touristic conditions of the traditional market on the travel route are well met, the traditional market might be developed as a successful tourist attraction. To meet the tourist-oriented conditions, author recommends that the traditional market satisfy the tourists’ nostalgic mood for old hometown through introducing well-organized scenery, manners of rural area and local souvenirs.
