신자유주의 시대 속 정상 가족 이데올로기에 대항한 여성 연대의 상상력: 영화 <굿바이 싱글>을 중심으로 = The Imagination of Women’s Solidarity Against Normal Family Ideology in the Neoliberal Era: An Analysis of the Movie Good-bye Single

국문 초록 (Abstract)

영화 <굿바이 싱글>은 신자유주의 시대 속 정상 가족 이데올로기에 대항한 여성 연대의 상상력을 보여주는 작품이다. 처음에 주인공들은 지배 질서를 내재화하지만, 여러 사건을 통해서 지배 질서의 폭력성을 직접 겪고 목도한다. 이후 그들은 지배 질서에 대항하여 ‘비정상성’의 정상성을 지향하는 여성 연대를 형성한다. 그러나 해당 연대는 실현 가능한 구체적인 형태를 띠기보다는 상상력을 자극하는 형태에 그친다. 이는 해당 연대가 ‘비정상성’의 결벽, ‘정상성’과의 결별을 강조하며 한계를 낳기 때문이다. 또한 연대의 핵심인 고주연은 ‘특별한 인물’로 그려지며 오히려 현실과 괴리된다. 게다가 그는 ‘정상성’의 ‘객관적 상관물’로 기능함과 동시에 신자유주의적 해결 방식대로 문제를 소거한다는 점에서 양가성을 보인다. 나열한 특징은 연대의 한계로 귀결된다. 하지만 현실에서 실현 가능한 연대를 이루기 위해서는 지배 질서 안팎의 존재가 ‘공존’을 위해 고민하는 자세가 필요하다. 이후 형성된 연대는 현실에서 힘을 발휘할 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The movie Goodbye Single (Familyhood) explores the possibilities of women’s solidarity as a counter-narrative to traditional family ideology in the neoliberal era. Initially, the protagonists internalize the dominant order and norms, but through various events, they witness and experience the inherent violence. In response, they form a new family structured based on women’s solidarity, challenging the ruling order. This solidarity is significant, as it highlights the normality of what has been considered abnormal. However, the depiction of women’s solidarity serves more as an imaginative construct rather than a feasible concrete form. The solidarity the female figures create signifies a break with “normality” while emphasizing the boundaries of “abnormality.” Additionally, the character Ko Ju-yeon is portrayed as a unique character with some flaws that she is less realistic and even shows contradictions by simultaneously opposing and embodying the ruling order. To achieve feasible solidarity, this article suggests the necessary of analyzing and reevaluating the concepts of coexistence and solidarity embodied in this film, which can have a tangible impact on reality.
