도덕 교과서에서 강조된 연대성의 의미

국문 초록 (Abstract)

연대성(連帶性, solidarity)은 사람들의 상호 결속과 책임을 바탕으로 사회의 올바른 질서를 유지하는 데 있어서 주목되어 온 개념이다. 본 연구는 연대성이 7～9학년의 중학교 도덕과 교과서에서 어떤 의미로 강조되고 있는지를 살펴보는 데 그 목적을 둔다. 이러한 연구가 필요한 이유는 사실 최소한의 인간적인 유대 관계를 유지하기도 쉽지 않은 이 시대에 연대성은 그러한 차원을 넘어 인류의 일치에 관한 새로운 모델로서 도덕 교육의 중요한 목표가 되기 때문이다. 연구의 방법은 문헌 연구와 내용 분석으로 요약할 수 있다. 먼저 연대성 개념의 관련 자료들을 검토하여 연대성의 의미를 확인한 다음, 그 틀에 의거하여 도덕 교과서의 내용을 구체적으로 분석하게 된다. 연대성 개념의 역사적 배경에서도 밝혀지겠지만, 연대성에 관한 종전의 선행 연구들은 대체로 그것이 사회 생활을 규제하는 원리임을 강조하는 선에서 그치고 있다. 본 연구는 이 개념을 구성하는 요소들을 세분하여 그것들이 도덕 교과서에서 어떻게 표현되고 있는지 탐색하고자 하는 것이다. 먼저 연대성이 역사적으로 어떻게 발전되어온 개념인지 살펴보기로 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Solidarity is a principle of social life based on the mutual bonds and responsibilities, and an important value that moral education pursues. In the Moral Textbooks now in use from seventh to ninth grades, solidarity shows itself as follows. First, it is stressed as a principle of social order. Solidarity is especially required to solve moral problems and value conflicts of society. Second, it is stressed as a premise for personal freedom and self-realization. Solidarity is intended not to restrain man, but to secure his personal dignity and to help his self actualization. Third, it is stressed as a basis of community building. Solidarity makes people form a unique characteristic in the communities of individual, home, neighbor, school, and society. Fourth, it is stressed as a base of subsidiarity and international common good. Solidarity makes much of subsidiarity in the part of state, and shows a right direction of nationalism and ideologies in the international societies. In these senses, solidarity is received as a moral category through Textbooks of Morals in the secondary school.
