This study analyzed the effects of ingesting amino acids mixed in a sports drink on the amino acid metabolism during submaximal exercise.
In the changes of blood lactate concentration, the experimental group(the amino acid sports drink intake group) showed a relatively lower than the placebo group during 1 hour submaximal exercise, but no significant differences were showed between two groups.
Although no significant differences, the plasma ammonia concentration in the experimental group showed a higher value as compared to the placebo group. The changes of blood alanine concentration in placebo groups showed a significantly higher than the experimental group. Blood asparagine concentration in the experimental group showed a significantly higher than the placebo group at 15 min of recovery phase after 1 hour submaximal exercise. The changes of blood aspartate concentration in placebo groups showed a significantly lower than the experimental group. The other parameters except of threonine showed no significant differences between two groups. But blood isoleucine concentration in the experimental group showed a significantly higher than the placebo group at 15 min of recovery phase after 1 hour submaximal exercise, and blood tryptophan concentration in the experimental group showed a significantly lower than the placebo group at 45 min during submaximal exercise. The ratio of blood BCAA concentration to tryptophan in the placebo group showed a significantly lower at 60 min of recovery phase after 1 hour submaximal exercise than the resting value. Blood EAA and TAA concentration in the experimental group showed a significantly higher than the placebo group at 15 min of recovery phase after 1 hour submaximal exercise.
In this results, it could be suggested that the amino acid supplementation through sports drink showed positive effects to the changes of blood amino acid variables in 1 hour submaximal exercise.
