18세기 연행록 속의 병자호란 : 고난을 기억하는 방법 = Byong-ja Horan in 18th century YeonHangRok : the way of memorizing hardship

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper is to find memories of Byong-ja Horan(丙子胡亂;Invasion by Ch'ing in year of Byong-ja(1636), Horan) in 18th century YeonHangRok(book of travel to Ch'ing) and is to explain what its characteristics &direction is. Memories of Horan can be found through place, cause the place is a external medium of memory. And 18th century YeonHangRoks can be a good series of texts to see how they make and treat motifs on Horan historically, for YeonHangRoks had written continuously since Ch'ing had become “Emperor Nation” from “nation of Barbarian”.<br/>
Memories of Horan in 18th century YeonHangRoks are 4 episodes. Each of 4 can be categorized in two ways. One is the memory of resistance, the other is the memory of submission. The former episode are about Chung-eum(淸陰) in Tong-goon-jung, and Sam-hak-sa(三學士) in Shenyang. They are all learned man(士), not a commander. but they resist to Ch'ing in their own way, such as writing memorial to king(上疏) which they won't approve of Ch'ing as Empire. And they are not afraid of execution for their fidelity to Chosun and doctrines of Confucius. Authors of YeonHangRoks regard their deeds as a response to Ch'ing's attack and think it as (moral/mental) victory. So they recall Chung-eum(淸陰) and Sam-hak-sa(三學士) often, even tell their episode to Ch'ing's scholars. As a result, they emphasis the former memory. The latter episode are about Bongnim daegoon(prince Bongnim; 鳳林大君) in Chung-suk-ryung(靑石嶺) and refugees in Koryo-bo(高麗堡). They were hostage and refugees, that is to say, they went there as victims of war. So, recall of them makes person who remember sad and feel frustrated. It stands out in sharp contrast to the former type of memory. So the attitude of YeonHangRok authors is. They recall that people and affair at specific place, but they don't repeat any more.
