탈종교시대의 종교성 = Religiosity of the dereligionization’ era

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

[Objective] The purpose of this study is to philosophically explore the ‘dereligionization’ of the modern era, focusing on indifference towards God or religion as a human unity. It seeks to reflect on the core of religiosity crucial for ‘self-realization’ in a changed world and proposes a vision for religious education.
[Contents] Although one religion's role as a meaning system is no longer possible in multicultural societies, its role continues still in regarding the meaning of life. Nevertheless, dereligionization may be the result of humans focusing on their own ego, following the life model of natural science, and overly preferring their own freedom and autonomy. In this paper, we examine religiosity in mysticism, transcendentalism, and faithism, and investigates causes of modern dereligionization, like subjectivity-centrism, scientific determination theory and idolized autonomy. Even within this tendency toward dereligionization, we emphasize the transition from erotic to agapeic selving.
[Conclusions] Religiosity involves transcending oneself based on the other’s power, moving from erotic to agapeic selving. Visions for religious education include human dignity, intersubjectivity, patience of existence(pasio essendi), fostering growth from a small to a larger self.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

[연구 목적] 본 연구의 목적은 흔히 현대를 ‘탈종교화 시대’로 일컫는데, ‘탈종교화’를 신의 문제, 혹은 인륜적 통합으로서의 종교에 대한 무관심에 국한하여 그 이유가 무엇인지 철학적으로 규명하고, 변화된 세계 안에서 ‘자기실현’을 위해 지켜야 할 종교성의 핵심은 무엇인지를 성찰하고 이를 기초로 종교교육에 비전을 제시한다.
[연구 내용] 종교(religion)는 인간, 혹은 세속의 영역을 신적인 것, 혹은 궁극적 성스러운 영역과 구별하고, 다시 인간이 신 혹은 궁극과 다시 일치하기 위해 수행하도록 돕는 의미체계이다. 하나의 종교가 전체 사회의 의미를 포괄하고 소통시키는 의미 체계로서의 역할이 현대의 다문화 사회에서 더는 불가능하지만, 인생의 중요한 의미에 관한 질문과 지향을 주는 역할은 여전히 계속될 것이다. 그럼에도 현대의 특징을 탈종교화로 이해하는 것은 인간이 자신의 자아 또는 주체성을 중시하고, 자연과학의 규정주의적 삶의 모델을 따르며, 자신의 자유와 자율성을 지나치게 선호한 결과일 것이다. 이 논문에서 우리는 우선 종교와 철학에서 종교성을 어떻게 추구해 왔는지, 신비주의, 선험주의, 신앙주의의 세 길을 중심으로 살피고(II), 현대에 이르러 탈종교화가 이루어지는 원인 또는 배경으로 주체성 중심주의, 과학적 규정주의, 우상화된 자율성을 다룬다(III). 이런 탈종교화의 경향성 안에서도 인간의 자기실현을 위해 놓쳐서는 안 될 종교성의 핵심, 즉 자애적 자기화에서 몰아적 자기화로의 전환에 대해 성찰한다(IV).
[결론] 종교성은 존재의 인내와 존재의 생존본능 사이에서 존재가 자애적 자아를 넘어 이타적 자아로 자기화를 진행할 때, 발생하는 타자의 기원적 힘을 따라 자신을 끊임없이 초월하는 역동성에 근거하고 있다. 이를 바탕으로 종교교육에 대한 비전들을 제시한다면, 인간존엄성, 상호주체성, 존재의 인내, 작은 자아에서 더 큰 자아로의 실천적 수행 등을 제시한다.(V.)
