There is a need to consider about the importance of the building as s shelter place and existing school buildings could be used as one of the buildings with the purpose. However, there are not any seismic capacity evaluation provision established in Korea. So the purpose of this study is to confirm and compare the inelastic behavior of the existing school buildings considering infilled masonry walls and only reinforced concrete frame.
Analysis method of modeling used Pushover that is the inelastic static analysis. after comparing and confirming the results of inelastic static analysis, in case do not consider infilled masonry walls results show much differences in material overstrength and system overstrength that influence response modification factor more than in case considered infilled masonry walls.
