인터넷을 활용한 효과적인 초등영어 지도 방안 연구 = (A) Study of Applying the Internet into the Effective Elementary English Teaching

국문 초록 (Abstract)

최근 인터넷의 발달과 함께 영어 교육에도 인터넷을 활용하려는 시도가 점차 늘어가고 있다. 하지만 인터넷의 교육적 활용 가능성에도 불구하고 교사들의 전문적인 지식과 활용 능력의 부족 및 시설의 미비 등으로 인해 실행상 많은 어려움이 있는 실정이다.
본 연구는 초등 영어 교육 과정 분석과 초등 영어 교육에서의 인터넷 활용 가능성을 살펴본 다음 초등학교 5학년 영어를 중심으로 인터넷을 활용한 효과적인 초등 영어 지도 방안을 찾고자 하였다. 제 2장에서 초등 영어 교육 과정을 분석하여 초등 영어 교육의 특징과 중요한 제반사항을 점검한다. 제 3장에서는 컴퓨터와 인터넷이 컴퓨터 보조 언어학습(CALL)의 도구로서 어떻게 발전해 왔는가를 탐색한 다음 인터넷의 특성, 인터넷의 교육적 활용 가능성 및 교사의 역할도 살펴본다. 제 4장에서는 효과적인 초등 영어 지도를 위해 5학년 영어를 중심으로 수업 활동을 돕는 인터넷 자료의 활용 사례를 제시한다. 그리고 한 단원을 설정하여 수업계획안을 작성하여 인터넷 활용 수업을 한 다음 학생들의 설문조사를 통해 수업의 결과를 확인한다.
교사들이 새로운 수업 보조 매체인 인터넷 조작과 활용에 능숙하고 초등 영어에 맞는 인터넷 자료를 선정할 수 있는 전문가가 되어야만 인터넷 활용 수업이 효과를 거둘 수 있다. 그리고 학생들은 인터넷 활용 수업에서 영어에 대한 흥미와 자신감을 갖게 된다. 이는 학생들이 인터넷 활용 학습에서 심리적 부담을 덜 느끼며 흥미롭고 적절한 피드백이 있는 인터넷 자료가 학생들의 특성에 잘 맞아 나타난 결과인 것 같다. 마지막으로 학생들의 인터넷 조작 능력에 따라 수업의 집중도가 다르게 나타난다. 하지만 인터넷 조작에 대한 교사의 사전지도와 학생들의 특성과 수준에 맞는 자료를 잘 선정한다면 해결될 것으로 본다.
앞으로 인터넷을 활용할 수 있는 시설의 완비와 이러한 수업 보도 도구를 적절히 활용하기 위해 노력하는 교사가 늘어간다면 초등 영어 교육의 목표를 제대로 달성할 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

With the rapid growth of population using the Internet, various attempts to make the most of the Internet as an English teaching method are being gradually increased.
The aim of this study is to analyze the Elementary English Education Courses, and then to find an effective teaching method for the 5th grade English course using the Internet. For this purpose in chapter 2, I examine the Elementary English Education Courses to identify the characteristics of the Elementary English Education and other important factors as well. In chapter 3, I discuss the phased developments of a computer aided language learning tool (CALL) via the computers and the Internet, the characteristics of the Internet, and the three important roles of teachers using the Internet for educational purpose. In chapter 4, I introduce a model teaching method of using the Internet for the 5th grader effectively. And I set up a class, makeup an agenda, and teach the class using the Internet, and then make a conclusion about the class with questionnaires that the students fill in.
Using the Internet will have good effects only when the teachers become very familiar with the Internet, and the new teaching aid media, and are able to select proper materials on the Internet for the enjoyment of learning. And students tend to be more interested and confident in English when they use the Internet. The reason seems to be that the students feel less stressful when using the Internet in the classroom and they can get interesting and proper feedbacks from the Internet. Finally, depending on the students' ability to operate and search the Internet, students show different concentration powers. However, if the teachers teach students how to operate computers, and they select proper materials, such a problem can be dealt with.
If more teachers are well trained for a new teaching method of the Internet Age, the goal for Elementary English Education will be achieved more easily and effectively.
