Bukchon Hanok Village is a representative residential area for hanok in
Seoul. Bukchon Hanok Village, which has been preserved for many years,
has been loved by domestic and foreign tourists who want to experience
Korea's unique culture, as it has Korean traditional houses, historical
cultural resources, and museum workshops in every corner between
alleys.Recently, however, a change in the environment occurred in Bukchon
village. As many people flocked, large capital flowed in, rent went up, and
cafes and food increased instead of galleries and antique shops.(Yeonhap
News , 2016,11,29)There are two different views on this phenomenon. One
is the concern about the deterioration of traditional Korean houses in dense
areas. The other view was that the original hanok were remodeled and the
café with a unique atmosphere played a role in creating a brand of Hanok
Village. But no matter what the view is, nowadays, the issue is the
Gentrification, which aims to make the dying commercial districts a
so-called "hotple" (a word that reduces hot places)As a way to save 's life,
it seems that the cafe and restaurant businesses continue to be a
priority.Cafes or restaurants are local by inducing tourists to spend money
in a relatively short period of time. This may be due to the judgment that it
can contribute to revitalizing the economy. But now, from a long-term
tourism policy perspective, it is necessary to understand how these
situations are being accepted by tourists.
In this study, the sensual heritage of cafes in the area is centered on
Hanok Village in Bukchon, a popular tourist destination (as of 2016), which
attracts an average of 4 to 5,000 tourists a day.I wanted to find out how it
affects the love mark, satisfaction, and intention of revisiting. Also, we
wanted to find out how the love mark formed through the visit to a cafe in
Hanok Village affects the satisfaction of tourism and the intention of
revisiting the village.
Studies have shown that the sensory heritage of Bukchon Hanok Village
Cafe has a significant effect on the love mark, satisfaction level and revisit
intention, while the love mark has a significant effect on satisfaction and
the intention of revisiting.
This study is meaningful in that the cafe property of Bukchon Hanok
Village was approached by a powerful emotional factor called lovemark,
confirming its impact on visitors. These results could also help tourism
practitioners come up with a solution that can be applied in terms of
attracting tourists.
