The purpose of this study is to scientifically verify the effectiveness of Pilates exercise program for middle-aged women by analyzing the effect of 12-week Mat Pilates exercise program on their body composition, lumbar muscle strength and flexibility. The subjects of the study were women in the full age of 34 to 64 year. A total of 51 subjects were classified into 30 women with Mat Pilates Exercise (Pilates Exercise Group)and 21 other women with out exercise (Control Group), and body composition analysis and tests on lumbar muscle strength and flexibility were conducted before and after 12-week Mat Pilates Exercise Program which was practiced 3times a week and 50 to 60 minutes each time.
