This study analyzed research trends related to problem behavior intervention for visually impaired children and proposed implications and research directions for behavioral intervention. 12 intervention studies related to problem behavior of children with visual impairment published in domestic academic journals from 2000 to 2024 were selected as papers for analysis. Research trends were analyzed according to the standards of publication status, research participants, intervention environment and characteristics, and research method and design. As a result of the research, intervention studies related to problem behavior of children with visual impairment were actively conducted from 2005 to 2009, but thereafter, studies were insufficient. In the case of research participants, studies were conducted on elementary school students, including children with visual impairment as well as visual impairment with multiple disabilities, and studies on middle and high school students were relatively rare. The intervention environment and characteristics were mainly carried out by teachers in the school environment to reduce disruptive classroom behavior through positive behavior support interventions. As a result of the research method and design analysis, a multiple baseline design was mainly conducted, and many studies presented maintenance and interobserver reliability, but most of the studies did not present generalization, intervention fidelity, and social validity. Based on these study results, visual impairment Research on intervention for children’s problem behavior needs to be conducted not only at the school level but also at various locations and subjects with a variety of research participants, and behavioral interventions using the latest technology are developed and applied to verify their effectiveness.
