DR. BUTLER'S IDEA OF THE FUTURE OF SOCIETY.

Taking up Butler's Analogy one day, my eye rested on the following interesting passages: Nothing which we at present see would lead us to the thought of a solitary, inactive state hereafter, but, if we judge at all from the analogy of nature, we must suppose, according to the Scripture account of it, that it will be a Community. And there is no shadow of anything unreasonable in conceiving, though there be no analogy for it, that this Community will be as the Scripture represents it, under the more immediate, or, if such an expression may be used, under the more sensible government of God.
