연극치료를 통한 발달장애인의 사회적 기술 향상 연구 = The research of drama therapy on social skill improvement of developmental disability

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 연극치료가 발달장애 성인의 사회적 기술 향상에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 한 질적 사례연구이다. 연구대상은 경기도에 소재한 A장애인 복지센터의 직업적응 훈련 프로그램에 참여하는 발달장애 성인 10명을 선정하여 2015년 6월부터 9월까지 주 1회 총 12회기 동안 진행하였다.
발달장애 성인집단을 대상으로 연구자가 Robert Landy의 역할이론과 통합예술매체를 적용하여 설계한 연극치료 프로그램은 크게 초기, 중기, 후기로 나누어 질적 분석하였으며 적용결과에 대한 분석은 회기 관찰일지와 녹화영상, 대상자가 활동 중 만든 결과물을 참고하였다. 나아가 보조수단으로 사회기술평정척도와 대인관계변화척도 그리고 자기효능감척도 및 삶의 질 변화 척도 설문지를 사전 사후에 사용하였으며 이는 SPSS 21.0 프로그램으로 대응표본 t-test 검증하였다.
연극치료 프로그램 적용 후 질적 분석한 결과 연극치료가 발달장애 성인의 사회적 기술 향상에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 보조수단으로 사용되었던 척도의 결과 역시 유의미한 변화가 나타났다. 따라서 연극치료는 성인 발달장애인 집단을 대상으로 적용하였을 때 그들의 사회성 발달을 통한 삶의 질 향상을 위한 목적으로 적용이 가능하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 추후 직장생활을 하는 발달장애인을 대상으로 회사생활의 변화에 연극치료가 미치는 영향에 대한 후속연구가 이루어지길 바란다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is a qualitative case study of seeing what effect the drama therapy has on the social skills improvement of adults with developmental disabilities. As participants, ten adults with developmental disabilities were selected from those who were engaging in work adjustment training program at welfare center for disabled, so called ‘A’ in this study. The therapy sessions were held once a week from June to September 2015, during which included 12 sessions in total.
The researcher structured the drama therapy program based on Dr. Robert Landy’s role theory and the use of integrative arts as media, and then qualitatively evaluated the program by breaking it down to the beginning, the middle, and the end. Also, the researcher used observation journals, videos, and creative works as additional sources of analysis. As a means of assistance, Social Skill Rating System, Relationship Change Scale, and questionnaires measuring self-esteem and life quality were used before and after the program. For statistics, SPSS 21.0 was used to run matched-pair t-test.


The qualitative analysis showed that the drama therapy has an effect in improving social skills of adults with developmental disabilities, and the quantitative analysis showed significant differences as well. In conclusion, the drama therapy can be used to the group of developmentally disabled adults with the purpose of improving their social skills and promote their life quality. The researcher proposes further research to be done on the effect of drama therapy and developmentally disabled people’s life at work.
