The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of children's arts and culture education experiences in Community Child Centers on the sense of community. This study used data from a survey of 653 children from Community Child Centers who participated in the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation and the 1% Sharing Art School of the Korea Messena Association. By applying McCarthy et al's (2004) 'Frame for Understanding the Benefits of Art', we examined the mediating effect of success experience and collaboration ability on the arts and culture education experiences of children in Community Child Centers that affect their sense of community. As a result of the study; (1) the experience of arts and culture education had a positive effect on the community consciousness of children in Community Child Centers. (2) it was found that the indirect effect was greater than the direct effect in the path of arts and culture education experience on the sense of community. In particular, it was found that the indirect effect through collaboration ability was the greatest. (3) the indirect effect through success experience was not significant, but the arts and culture education experience was found to affect the sense of community through the double mediating effect of success experience and collaborative ability.
Based on the results, suggestions were made regarding the significance of arts and culture education for children in Community Child Centers and the need to pursue its public value, which goes beyond individual transformation and contributes to social change.
