This study was done to investigate the effect of Glycyrrhizin on the lethality induced by Glalactosamine and Lipopolysacaharide(LPS) coadministration in mouse. Glycyrrhizin was injected intravenousely as a mutiple dose at 20, 15, 10, 5, 0hr before Galactosamine and Lipopolysaccharide coadministration. And lethality, Tumor Necrosis Factor(TNF) level in serum was surveyed as a marker of Glycyrrhizin effect.
The result are as follows;
1. Glycyrrhizin has no effect on the lethality induced by Galactosamin / LPS when Glycyrrhizin was administered as a single dose.
2. Glycyrrhizin reduced the lethality induced by Galactosamine / LPS in dose-dependent manner when Glycyrrhizin was administered as a multiple dose.
3. Also Glycyrrhizin reduced TNFα level in the serum.
