The purpose of this study is to clarify the effect that the environmental art education cases accompanied with environmental art exhibitions by art museums for elementary students affect to the field of environmental education and its educational meaning. In social interest and mood about ever-growing environmental problems, environmental art education is being embodied as an alternative in an environmental education connected with art education. This study deals with the environmental education that was conducted with the project, 'Planting Seeds of Life', an example of environmental art education for elementary school students with the Environmental Art Festival held by GwangJu Moodeung Museum of Current Art in 2018. Researcher found that self-experience is important along with change of cognition in environmental education, as a result of examining the change of perception of environmental education by referring participating students' works and their review. This paper summarizes the following. First, this paper examines the trends of environmental education, environmental art, and environmental art education as the theoretical background. Second, we will introduce the works submitted to the Environmental Art Festival held at GwangJu Moodeung Museum of Current Art and examine the activities of the classes linked with elementary schools. Third, researcher will present various perspectives on environmental education and art museum education with the results of the Environmental Art Festival exhibitions consisting of the teaching and learning methods for the project 'Planting Seeds of Life' and students' participation. This study tried to broaden students' perspective on environmental art through understanding of the environment and direct sympathy. Also I confirmed that the tendency of contemporary art related to environment and environment art education can have a common goal in terms of aesthetic awareness expansion, environmental sensitivity, and ecological sensitivity. The environmental art festival discussed in this paper gives implications as not only a place to implement environmental education but also the extended aspect of culture art education in art museum.
