미술관 환경미술 전시연계를 통한 초등학생 환경미술교육 사례연구 = A Case Study on Environmental Art Education for Elementary School Students connected with Art Museums Environmental Exhibition

The purpose of this study is to clarify the effect that the environmental art education cases accompanied with environmental art exhibitions by art museums for elementary students affect to the field of environmental education and its educational meaning. In social interest and mood about ever-growing environmental problems, environmental art education is being embodied as an alternative in an environmental education connected with art education. This study deals with the environmental education that was conducted with the project, 'Planting Seeds of Life', an example of environmental art education for elementary school students with the Environmental Art Festival held by GwangJu Moodeung Museum of Current Art in 2018. Researcher found that self-experience is important along with change of cognition in environmental education, as a result of examining the change of perception of environmental education by referring participating students' works and their review. This paper summarizes the following. First, this paper examines the trends of environmental education, environmental art, and environmental art education as the theoretical background. Second, we will introduce the works submitted to the Environmental Art Festival held at GwangJu Moodeung Museum of Current Art and examine the activities of the classes linked with elementary schools. Third, researcher will present various perspectives on environmental education and art museum education with the results of the Environmental Art Festival exhibitions consisting of the teaching and learning methods for the project 'Planting Seeds of Life' and students' participation. This study tried to broaden students' perspective on environmental art through understanding of the environment and direct sympathy. Also I confirmed that the tendency of contemporary art related to environment and environment art education can have a common goal in terms of aesthetic awareness expansion, environmental sensitivity, and ecological sensitivity. The environmental art festival discussed in this paper gives implications as not only a place to implement environmental education but also the extended aspect of culture art education in art museum.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 미술관의 환경미술전시와 연계한 초등학교 학생들의 환경미술교육의 사례가 초등학교 현장의환경교육에 미치는 영향과 그 교육적 의미를 밝히는 것이다. 환경미술교육은 날로 심각해지는 환경 문제에 대한사회적 관심과 분위기 속에서 환경교육에 대한 대안으로 미술교육과의 연계 속에서 구체화되고 있다. 본 연구는광주 무등현대미술관에서 진행한 2018년 환경미술제와 연계한 초등학생들의 환경미술교육의 사례인 ‘생명의씨앗 심기’ 프로젝트와 함께 진행된 환경교육을 다룬 것이다. 프로젝트 참여 학생들의 환경미술제 참여과정과작품, 참여 후기 등을 참고하여 환경교육에 대한 인식의 변화된 추이를 살펴본 결과 환경교육은 인식의 변화와더불어 자기체험이 중요함을 알 수 있었다. 본 논문을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 논문의 이론적 배경으로환경교육, 환경미술, 환경미술교육의 전반적인 흐름들을 고찰한다. 둘째, 광주 무등현대미술관에서 진행된 환경미술제에 출품된 작품을 소개하고 초등학교와 연계된 수업의 활동과정을 살펴본다. 셋째, ‘생명의 씨앗 심기’ 프로젝트의 교수·학습 방법과 학생들의 참여로 이루어진 환경미술제 전시작품의 결과를 통해 환경교육, 미술관교육에 대한 다양한 관점을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구는 환경에 대한 이해, 직접적인 교감 등을 통해 학생들의 환경미술에 대한 시각을 넓혀주고자 하였다. 또한 환경 관련 현대미술의 방향과 환경미술교육이 미적인식의 확장, 환경 감수성, 생태 감수성이라는 측면에서 공통된 목표를 가질 수 있음을 확인하였다. 본 논문에서 다루고 있는환경미술제는 환경교육의 실천의 장으로서 그리고 미술관 문화예술교육의 확장된 측면에서도 시사점을 주고 있다.
