무용장르를 이용한 지역축제의 지역경제효과 비교 분석 - ‘천안흥타령춤축제’와 ‘안동국제탈춤페스티벌’을 중심으로 - = Analysis of Local Economy Effect due to Local Dance Festival - mainly in “Cheonan World Dance Festival,” and “Andong International Maskdance Festival” -

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The ultimate purpose of local festival is to develop economy and culture in that area. “Cheonan World Dance Festival,” and “Andong International Maskdance Festival” are typical examples of successful local festivals about dance nationwide. There is a significance that not only “Cheonan World Dance Festival,” which has been decided for the best festival, but also “Andong International Maskdance Festival,” which has been chosen for Korea’s representing festival is just a local festival about dance genre. In Andong case, it is a local festival that specialized the regional characteristics with a traditional dance named “Talchum(Maskdance).” On the contrary, Cheoan case did it with all kinds of dance genre. Therefore, when trying to find an evolutive direction by studying economy booming effects caused by local festivals, it will be the foundation research to popularize dance genre as one of the popular brands.
For the research methods, direction of economic impact of local festivals was drawn by analysing the types of spending and audience in “Cheonan World Dance Festival,” and “Andong International Maskdance Festival.” The results are as follows.
First, the reason why audience don’t spend continually, although its number is increasing is that the portion of alien audience is low. A solution that can increase even foreign audience in that portion of aliens should be found.
Second, it can be guaranteed for a region to increase its income by increasing the portion of outsiders, even foreigners. Eventually this will positively affect local economy. By making it a world festival with various and positive ideas, foreigners will spend more.
Third, To do this, local products and contents that have various promotional material and local characteristics should be developed. And the local hardware infra should be reorganized.
Hence, the local dance festival’s economic impact should be analyzed by using “Cheonan World Dance Festival,” and “Andong International Maskdance Festival,” which are the best representing dance festivals and progressing way of dance genre should be discussed. If dance festivals settle down through diverse methods and solutions, it will affect the growth of dance genre in a positive way. For this we should try more to find the ways to make successful local dance festivals.
