외국어로서의 한국어교육학과 교육과정 개선 방안 연구 = A Study on How to Improve the Curriculum of Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language Courses

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 국내외적으로 급속히 변화되고 있는 한국어 교육 환경에 적절하게 대응할 수 있는 민첩성과 실제 교육 현장에 탄력적으로 적용할 수 있는 한국어 교육 능력을 제고하기 위하여 외국어로서의 한국어교육학과 교육과정을 개선 방안 연구하는 데 있다.
이에 본 연구의 1장에서는 한국어 교사 교육과 외국어 교사 교육에 관련된 교사 양성 교육과정에 대한 선행 연구를 살펴보았다. 2장에서는 언어 교사와 한국어 교사 교육과정의 기본적인 개념과 특징에 대해 살펴보았으며 교사의 전문성을 높이기 위한 한국어 교사 교육이 반드시 필요하다는 점을 알 수 있었다. 3장에서는 국어기본법 시행을 기점으로 이전과 이후의 한국어 교사 교육의 환경 변화를 살펴보고, 기존의 한국어 교육 관련 학과의 교육과정을 분석해 본 결과를 통해 현장 밀착형 한국어 교사 양성을 위한 교육 내용이 포함되어야 함을 확인하였다. 4장에서는 3장의 결과를 바탕으로 교육과정의 목적 및 목표, 교사 교육의 내용 등을 고려 사항으로 두고 외국어로서의 한국어교육학과 교육과정을 설계해 보았다. 5장에서는 본고의 내용을 정리하고 후속되어야 할 연구 과제를 제시하였다.
본 논문은 급속히 변화되고 있는 한국어 교육 환경에 대해 파악해 보았다는 것과 실제 교실 현장에서 적응력을 높일 수 있는 교육과정을 제시하였다는 측면에서 그 의미가 있다고 할 수 있다. 앞으로 한국어 교사의 질적 향상을 도모하기 위하여 한국어 교사 교육에 대한 세부적인 교육과정 개선 방안에 대한 다양한 연구가 이루어지기를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to examine how to improve the curriculum of Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language (TKFL) courses in order to enhance its agility to properly respond to the rapidly changing environment of Korean language education, in and out of the country, and to develop teaching skills able to be flexibly applied in the real education environment.
Chapter I examines previous studies on teacher training courses for both Korean language teachers and foreign language teachers.
Chapter II studies the basic concepts and features of the education courses for Korean language teachers and other language teachers. The study shows the necessity of education for Korean language teachers to improve their expertise.
Chapter III examines the changes in the environment of education courses for Korean language teachers that occurred before and after the enforcement of the Basic Law of Korean Language. It also analyses the traditional curriculum used in the related departments at universities. The study shows that the curriculum should be improved in the way that it can foster teachers who are able to meet the various needs of students from different cultural backgrounds and flexibly respond to the different circumstances in the field.
In Chapter IV, based on the findings of the previous chapter, the curriculum of KFL education courses is designed in consideration of the goals and objectives of the curriculum and the education contents. Lastly, Chapter V summarizes the thesis and proposes subsequent research projects.
This paper is useful in that it examines the rapidly changing environment of Korean language education, and presents the curriculum able to foster teachers who are highly adaptable to the teaching fields. In the future, more studies on more detailed measures to improve the curriculum for KFL teachers are expected to be carried out in order to enhance their expertise and professionalism.
