Ryu, seongryong``s 『Jingbirok』 not only accurately recorded 7 years`` war, Japanese Invasion of KoreaㆍJeongyujaeran, but also included the lesson of praemunitus. The word ‘Jingbi(懲毖)’ was borrowed from an expression, ``I discipline the past and previse worries(豫其懲而毖後患)`` in 『Shigyung』「Sobi」. In any organization, leader``s ability and role is earnestly important above all in a crisis situation. In a peaceful period, it is possible to somehow maintain that situation, however in a crisis situation, leader``s strategy is absolutely required to wisely determine the problem. Leadership based on Ryu, seongryong``s time spirit was the recommendation of admiral Yi Sun-shin and general Gwon Yul. This book is highly evaluated not only in Joseon but also in Japan, which was the enemy country, along with 『Nanjung Ilgi』, admiral Yi Sun-shin``s diary, as an important historical material and research material of Japanese Invasion of Korea. Because 『Jingbirok』 included secret history and diplomatic secret that the three states, JoseonㆍMingㆍJapan underwent during 10 years of Japanese Invasion of Kore aㆍJeongyujaeran. Moreover, 『Jingbirok』 can be said to be a codification of abundant historical material that Ryu, seongryong wrote with his direct experience while he was undertaking important responsibility of the nation during Japanese Invasion of Korea with definite sense of purpose. Follow-up subjects of this research are Ryu, seongryong``s life and philosophy/ selection of fit persons and leadership/ writing of『Jingbirok』 and time spirit/ significance and prospect of『Jingbirok』. Ryu, seongryong learned new technique and strategy of Ming while consoling the people and collected soldiers and trained them to be courageous soldiers. This preparation prepared the foundation of independent national defense capability, though Ming participated in the war. This way, Ryu, seongryong maintained this attitude whenever controversy of politics and faction arose during Japanese Invasion of Korea, also, he was strict in administration and military duty as well as open-minded leader. 『Jingbirok』 determined the fact of war and personal criticism in objective position, and wrote the process and the result as they were. Also, it is acknowledged as an important comprehensive historical material of Japanese Invasion of Korea covering politicsㆍeconomyㆍdiplomacy, etc., not merely war, nevertheless it was a book which recorded the war.
