국문 초록 (Abstract)

좋은 거버넌스는 지역발전에 직접적으로 연관이 있다. 2008-2010 에 Convention on
Biological Diversity (CBD)는 여러 정당들을 초청하여 보존지역의 거버넌스 및 역량개발
측정을 시도하였다. 과테말라는 243 개의 보존지역을 가지고 있고 모테리코 다기능 자연보호
지역이 그 중의 하나이다. 이 지역에 대해 연구를 수행하였다.
RNUNN 거버넌스와 몬테리코 지역바전에 관한 연구하였다. 30 년동안 자연보호를
수행하여 왔으나 거버넌스에 관한 연구는 드물었다.
인터뷰를 통한 질적 연구 방법을 활용하여, 지역 거버넌스의 몇 가지 주요 요소를
확인하였다. 자연자원 보존을 위한 적절한 규제, 참여, 효과적인 소통 및 피드백들이다. 이
연구는 이 보존지역의 거버넌스에 대해 좋은 거버넌스의 원칙들을 살펴보고 시사점을
제공하였다 발

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Good governance is directly related to the development of the community in any
society. The territory of Guatemala contains 243 protected areas, which represent
almost 33% of the national territory. The Monterrico Multipurpose Natural Reserve
is one of them, located in the Monterrico Village, Santa Rosa, Guatemala.
With the objective of analyzing the relationship between the governance of the
RNUMM and its relationship with the community development of Monterrico, this
research assesses the governance of the protected area, through the evaluation of
the perceptions of governance of the local community. The study was carried out in
the Monterrico Village, where the UMNN is located since 1979. Despite more than
30 years of implementation of conservation projects in the area, there have been
limited evaluations of governance.
Using a qualitative approach and conducting interviews, we discovered that there
were several key elements of governance that local communities perceived as
lacking, including regulation in the extraction of resources, participation, effective
communication and feedback processes. In addition, a series of administrative
problems were identified. Despite these challenges, communities recognized the
value of protecting natural resources and demonstrated their desire to participate
actively in the management process.
This thesis offers implications to support the RNUMM governance and enhance the
effectiveness of community development projects by incorporating the principles
of good governance that are perceived as deficient.
