분리-개별화 수준이 이성관계집착에 미치는 영향 : 자기개념 명확성의 매개효과 = The Mediation Effects of Self-Concept Clarity on the Relationships Between Separation-Individuation and limerence in romantic relationship

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 남녀 대학생을 대상으로 분리개별화 수준이 이성관계 집착에 미치는 영향에서 자기개념 명확성의 매개효과를 검증하였으며, 이를 통해 상담 및 임상 장면에서 활용할 수 있는 구체적인 개입방법에 대한 기초 자료를 제공하고자 하였다.
이를 위해 남녀 대학생의 분리개별화, 자기개념 명확성, 이성관계 집착간의 상관관계를 조사하였고, 분리개별화와 이성관계 집착간의 관계에서 자기개념 명확성의 매개효과를 검증하기 위해 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 후 부트스트래핑(Bootstrapping)절차와 Sobel test를 실시하여 간접효과의 유의미성을 확인함으로써 모형을 최종 검증하였다.
서울, 경기, 강원, 충청, 전라, 경상, 제주 소재 4년제 대학에 재학 중인 남녀 대학생 254명에게 온라인 설문지를 배포하여 조사를 실시했으며 그 중 247부(여자 165명, 남자 82명)가 자료 분석에 사용되었다. 연구도구는 분리개별화 척도(SIS), 자기개념 명확성 척도(SCS), 관계중독질문지 척도(RAQ)를 사용하였으며, 분석방법으로는 SPSS 20.0과 SPSS PROCESS MACRO 통계 프로그램을 활용하였다.
결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 분리개별화, 자기개념 명확성, 이성관계 집착간의 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 분리개별화는 이성관계 집착과 부적 상관관계를 보였고, 자기개념 명확성과 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 그리고 자기개념 명확성은 이성관계 집착과 부적 상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 분리개별화가 이성관계 집착에 미치는 영향에서 자기개념 명확성의 매개효과 모형을 검증한 결과, 대학생의 분리개별화와 이성관계 집착간의 부적 영향관계를 자기개념 명확성이 부분매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 분리 개별화 수준이 낮을수록 이성관계 집착 성향이 높아지고 이 과정에서 자기개념 명확성이 부분적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 연구결과는 상담 및 임상 장면에서 이성관계 집착성향을 보이는 내담자들을 이해하고 병리적인 관계 패턴을 스스로 자각 및 통찰하여 건강한 관계를 맺도록 도움을 줄 것이며, 자기개념 명확성 수준을 높이는 것이 주체적이고 발전적인 인간관계 형성에 중요함을 시사했다는 점에서 의의를 둘 수 있다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점 그리고 후속 연구에 대한 제언을 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The behavioral and psychological characteristics of limerence in romantic relationship are often found in the field of actual consultation and clinical practice, but there has been little systematic research in Korea. This study was to provide the basic tips for the specific intervention in a therapeutic setting by verifying the mediation effects of self-concept clarity between separation-individuation and limerence in romantic relationship.
For this study, the correlation between separation-individuation, self-concept clarity, limerence in romantic relationship of undergraduate students were investigated. And after assuming the mediating effects of self-concept between separation-individuation and limerence in romantic relationship, the hierarchical analysis was conducted. After that, model was verified by proving significance of indirect effect through bootstrapping and sobel test based on the assumed partial mediation model of self-concept clarity in relations between separation-individuation and limerence in romantic relationship.
For these purpose, 249 college students (female 165, male 82) were asked to respond to the survey used in this study. All subjects were tested with separation-individuation (SIS), self-concept clarity (SCS), relationship addictioin (RAQ). This study used the SPSS 20.0 program and the SPSS PROCESS MACRO for establishing the analysis of study questions.
The results are summarized as follows ; First, the study suggested that there was a significant positive correlation between separation-individuation the lower the grades and self-concept clarity. There was a significant negative correlation between separation-individuation and limerence in romantic relationship. Also there was a significant negative correlation between self-concept clarity and limerence in romantic relationship. Second, in verification of mediation effect model of self-concept clarity in the impact of separation-individuation on limerence in romantic relationship, it was proven to be a partial mediation model where separation-individuation affects limerence in romantic relationship through self-concept clarity.
Collectively, the results of this study suggested in difficulty in separation-individuation can not only influence on limerence in romantic relationship directly and positively, but decrease self-concept clarity resulting in reinforcement of limerence in romantic relationship.
This study will help counselor and clinical psychologist understand clients struggling with limerence in romantic relationship and form a healthy relationship, allowing them to realize problematic pattern of interpersonal relationship. Also, these results suggested that it is essential to enhance and develop self-concept clarity in forming independent relationship. Finally, the clinical implications and limitations of the study were discussed.
