In recent years, most hospitals which go through rapid change and hard situation of economy recognize the importance of performance evaluation for their survival and development. Administrators in hospitals have begun introducing balanced scorecard as modern management tools in their organizations to deal with their financial crises while providing high quality health service to the patient.
Balanced Scorecard, a performance measurement and strategic management system, financial perspective as well as non financial perspective (customer, internal business process, and innovation and growth)has been included to Balanced Scorecard.
The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of Balanced Scorecard on the performance in hospitals and suggest to the potential benefits of Balanced Scorecard. This study attempts to empirical test on the basis of four major analysis (correlation analysis, factor analysis, and reliability analysis) suggested in the measures method, and applies AMOS4 in order to test these hypotheses.
On the basis of the results in this empirical research, the findings of this paper can be summarized as follows. Hospital has to know non-financial performance which has positively relate to financial performance. Therefore, the results of this paper help to enhance the health care center to become aligned and focused on implementing the long-term competitive strategy.
The subjects of this research were all the large general hospital, it is premature that such research results are applied commonly. Hereafter, if we research deeply the transition changed of sample hospitals in view of long considerations, there will be based on making standardization of hospital administration with developing methods in the various performance problems related to BSC.
