The purpose of this study was to evaluate the quality of early childhood educational programs in the Kyung Buk province. The subjects were 205 kindergartens in Kyung Buk and the method of evaluation used was the survey with Assessment Scale for Early Childhood Programs (Simple Type) developed by Rhee and Lee (1996). The results were as follows : 1. The overall quality of early childhood educational programs in Kyung Buk was mostly well-managed. 2. The quality of each of the assessment factors were also mostly well-managed. 3. In the assessment of the sub-factors of the programs, the sub-factors of social life and language life showed very well-managed. The sub-factors of exploration, staff, family-community relations, and assessment only met minimum standards of management. The remaining 10 out of 16 assessment sub-factors in this study were judged mostly well-managed. 4. Private kindergartens exhibited higher quality than public kindergartens in every respect. There were no differences exhibited between a city and a county. On the other hand; a career and grade of the teacher had a positive influence on quality of programs.
