The hinge module that is applied to Appliances connects the door and the cabinet. it was shaft to be rotated by weight of door, but has evolved in the direction of improving the safety and ease of use. so these days commonly used hinge is made of friction torque mechanism using a screw-cam and spring, it makes door be opened and closed smoothly. However, friction torque mechanism has problems because of using Appliances for the long time . The biggest problem is causes safety problem that free falling of door hit user hands .it is because of the change in the elasticity of the spring. so, To find the direction of improvement of this problem hinge screw - spring frictional mechanism, design theory of screw cam and compression spring is presented .Based on design theory , An example of optimization by response surface methodology (RSM) is presented.
