TV토론에 나타난 후보자들의 설득전략 연구 : 2006년 서울시장 TV토론을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 TV토론에서 후보자들의 설득 전략이 어떻게 나타나는지 알아보기 위해, 2006년 5월 31일 실시된 지방자치단체장 선거 중 서울 시장 선거에 출마한 후보자들의 TV토론 6회를 대상으로 오세훈 후보와 강금실 후보의 토론 전략을 분석하였다. 이때 각 후보가 구사하는 설득적 토론 전략에는 베노이트와 웰스(Benoit & Wells)의 수사학적 공격과 방어 전략을 분석틀로 사용하였으며, 사용되는 후보자들의 이슈전략, 그리고 TV토론에서 나타나는 후보자들의 비언어적 메시지를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 지지율에 따른 설득적 공격 전략과 방어 전략의 빈도 차이는 유의미한 결과가 나타났으며, 설득적 공격과 방어 시에 나타나는 비언어적 메시지에 있어서는 일부 유목에서 두 후보 간 유의미한 차이가 나타났고, 공격과 방어로 나누어 살펴보면 공격보다는 방어시 비언어적 메시지가 활발하게 이루어졌다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In order to identify to what extent the candidates’ persuasion strategies employed televised debate, this study analyzed debate strategy of the televised Seoul’s mayoral election debates between Se-Hoon Oh and Kum-Sil Kang. Also, this article explored issue strategy and non verbal message that candidates conducted in 2006 Seoul’s mayoral election debates based on Benoit and Well’s rhetorical attack and defence strategy, as an analytical framework. Major findings suggested that there were some differences of persuasive attack and defence strategy that each candidates conducted. In addition, there were some differences of usage of non verbal message between candidates in debates. It was verified that non verbal message used for defense.
