Trigeminal neuralgia may be defined as those disorders in which the dominant symptom of pain in the peripheral or central fibers of the trigeminal nerve. We had treated 11 cases with idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia which visited Dept. of Oral and maxillofacial surgery, College of Dentistry, Chon Buk National University from January 1986 to April 1987.
We had performed nerve block in the 6 cases when treated them, and in the 3 cases of which, nerve indicator had been used during the nerve block.
The purpose of this paper is to report our observation on the case analysis of 11 patients and the effectiveness of nerve block with alcohol.
