빈 고전주의 시대의 시민계급 여성 음악가 = Female Bürger Musicians of the Viennese Classical Period: In the Case of Josepha Barbara Auernhammer

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 18세기 후반기 음악의 역사에 본격적으로 출현한 시민계급 여성 음악가를 빈 고전주의 시대, 고전주의 시대의 도시 빈을 중심으로 살펴보며, 요세파 바바라 아우언함머를 탐구대상으로 삼는다. 아우언함머는 ‘시대 정신’을 거스르며 자신이 계획했던 삶을 ‘자신의 이름’으로 살아낸 근대 초 여성 직업음악가, 여성 직업작곡가, 음악회 기획가, 교육자였다. 음악의 역사에 아우언함머가 유의미하게 새긴 족적은 무엇보다 다작한 여성 작곡가, ‘남성적 음악’을 쓴 여성 작곡가, 작품을 출판한 여성 작곡가로서의 족적이다. 화려한 테크닉과 기교, 상상력 풍부한 비르투오소인 자신을 과시하고자 하는 의도가 짙게 묻어나고 창작 그 자체보다는 연주의 목적점을 향하고 있다는 인상을 풍기는 작품들을 생산했지만, 여성의 창작력에 의심을 품고 질적, 양적 한계를 설정한 시대의 질서에 맞선 여성 작곡가로서 그의 역사적 가치는 주목할만하다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examines female Bürger musicians who emerged in earnest in the history of music in the second half of the 18th century, focusing on the Viennese classical period. In particular, it choose the case of Josepha Barbara Auernhammer as a subject of research. She was a female professional musician, concert organizer, and educator who defied the Zeitgeist. Auernhammer’s important contribution to the history of music is as a prolific female composer, a female composer who wrote ‘masculine music’, and a female composer who published her works. Her compositions are heavily influenced by her desire to show herself as a flamboyant, and imaginative virtuoso, and give the impression that they are aimed more at performance than at creation itself. Nevertheless, her historical value as a female composer who defied the social order of the times, which was suspicious of women’s creative abilities and set qualitative and quantitative limits on them, is noteworthy.
