The purpose of the study was to investigate changes of whole body reaction time in accordance with 3 different stances. The subjects were 3 male national caliber Tae Kwan Do players. The 3 different stances were 1 standard stance (natural stride of each subject), 2 comparable stance (natural stride of each subject-1/2 foot length, natural stride of each subject+1/2 foot length).
The reselts were summarized as follow;
1. In case of subject A, the whole body reaction time were 0.223sec in standard stance, 0.325 sec in -1/2 foot length stance, and 0.364 sec in+1/2 foot length stance. But these were no significant differences except between standard stance and +1/2 foot length stance (p<0.5).
2. In case of subject B, the whole body reaction time were 0.446 sec in standard stance, 0.447 sec in +1/2 foot length stance, 0.473 sec in -1/2 foot length stance. There were not significant differences among the stances.
3. In case of subject C, the whole body reaction time were 0.374 sec in +1/2 foot length stance, 0.399 sec in standard stance, 0.405 sec in 1/2 foot length stance. But there were no significant differences among the stances.
4. In case of total stances, the whole body reaction time were 0.357 sec in standard stance, 0.395 sec in +1/2 foot length stance, 0.401 sec in -1/2 foot length stance. But there were no significant differences among the stances.
