Scotland can point to the production of Rob Roy, albeit inadequate; America to her various War films, all of which were instinct with the type of patriotism peculiar to herself and, preeminently to The Birth of a Nation, which not only heralded the advent of super movies but also told the story of the Civil War and was animated with a great ideal.
