변이할당분석을 활용한 국내 항만연관산업의 경영성과 특성 분석 = An Analysis of Managerial Performance Characteristics of Korea’s Port-Related Industries Using Shift-Share Analysis

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 변이할당분석(Shift-Share Analysis, SSA)을 활용하여 국내 항만기업의 경영성과에 영향을 미치는 요인을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 매출액, 영업이익, 종사자 수를 기준으로 국가성장효과, 산업구조효과와 지역할당효과를 분석한 결과, 지역별 항만기업 간에 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 서울특별시, 대전광역시, 충청남도 등은 산업구조와 지역할당 효과 모두 우수한 성과를 보였으나, 경기도, 부산광역시 등은 지역할당 효과가 부정적이어서 경영성과가 좋지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 항만기업의 경영성과가 국가적 성장뿐만 아니라 지역경제 및 산업구조 변화에 크게 영향을 받는다는 점을 시사한다. 본 연구는 항만기업의 경영성과 제고를 위한 지역 맞춤형 정책 수립의 기초자료를 제공하며, 향후 개별 항만기업의 경영성과 증진을 위한 정성적 요인분석과 국제 비교연구의 필요성을 제안한다.

This study empirically analyzed factors influencing managerial performance among Korean port enterprises using the Shift-Share Model. Based on measurements of sales revenue, operating profit, and the number of employees, this study found that managerial performances of regional port firms were different according to effects of national growth, industrial structure, and regional allocation. Analysis results showed that port firms in regions such as Seoul, Daejeon, and Chungcheongnam demonstrated superior managerial performance due to both favorable effects of industrial structure and regional allocation. However, port firms in regions such as Gyeonggi-do and Busan showed inferior managerial performance because of negative regional allocation effect. These findings indicate that managerial performances of port firms are affected by effects of national growth, industrial structure, and regional allocation. This study advocates the need of customized regional policies and provides basic analysis data to enhance managerial performance of Korean port firms. Moreover, it suggests that future research by performing qualitative factor analysis and an international comparative study for each port firm is needed to improve managerial performance.
