The prevalence of pure mutinous carcinoma is less than 2% of all breast carcinomas. Typical mammographic finding for pure mutinous breast carcinoma is benign-appearing mass which is represented by a circumscribed or microlobulated-margined oval or lobular mass on mammography. The microcalcifications have been rarely reported in pure mutinous carcinoma of breast. According to previous reports, even rarely in the presence of microcalcifications in the pure mutinous carcinoma, they had the psammomatous or punctate appearances that are often seen with other type of mucin-producing tumor. We experienced a case of pure mutinous breast carcinoma represented by only pleomorphic microcalcifications with no associated mass density suggesting infilterating breast carcinoma, on mammography.
