영국의 노인 주거 및 요양 서비스 정책과 공간구성에 관한 연구 - 영국 존 모든센터 사례를 중심으로 - = Study on the Elderly Residential and Care Services with Spatial Design in the United Kingdom - Focusing on the Case of the John Morden Centre -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 영국의 노인 주거 및 돌봄 서비스의 정책의 집약적 특성과 이것이 반영된 실제 사례, 존 모든 센터의 공간구성을 분석하는 것이다. 조사의 방법으로 영국 노인 주거 및 요양 서비스에 관한 선행연구를 살펴서 주요한 집약적 특성들을 선별한 후, 여기서 도출된 요소들을 바탕으로 특정 건축물의 공간구성을 심층 분석했다. 본 연구 결과는 영국의 노인 주거 및 돌봄 서비스 맥락에서 정책 지침과 공간 설계 전략 간의 일치를 밝히는 주요 통찰력을 제공한다. 존 모든 센터에 대한 분석을 통해 그 공간 구성 및 서비스 제공 모델이 노인 거주자의 삶의 질과 웰빙 향상에 어떻게 기여하는지 알 수 있다. 또한 노인 돌봄을 위한 효과적인 환경을 조성하기 위해서는 정책적으로 성숙된 방향성을 양분으로 기능과 심미적인 부분이 통합된 공간 설계가 이루어져야 함을 알 수 있다. 이 연구는 향후 국내 노인관련 정책 및 건축 설계의 참고자료로서 노인 주거 및 돌봄 서비스의 전반적인 품질을 향상시키는 데 기여할 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the policy framework and spatial design considerations shaping elderly residential and care services in the UK, focusing on the John Morden Centre in London. Using a mixed-methods approach, it combines a review of existing literature on elderly care policies and spatial design principles with a detailed case study of the John Morden Centre. The findings reveal how policy directives align with spatial design strategies in elderly care services, highlighting how the Centre’s design and service model enhance residents' well-being and quality of life. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating policy and design to create supportive elderly care environments, informing future policy, architectural design, and operational strategies in the UK and beyond.
