    With a great potential in today's ubiquitous technology environment, wearable computing applications have inspired creative works by a group of diverse professionals such as scientists, engineers, fashion designers, media artists and entrepreneurs. Hence, materials and technologies in wearable computing field are evolving faster than ever with continuous interest in smart applications in wearables. Numerous upcoming fashion technology designers and wearable artists can now easily approach new technology of smart materials with creative ideas to express. Their designs explore the extent to which dress can detect and respond to its environmental changes or wearer's condition and transform wearable technology to a form of media art, wearable technology art. This paper investigates how new and reinvented materials and smart textiles are technologically integrated into such projects in common ground of many innovative designers and artists in wearable technologies and fashion industries during last decade. Materials and technologies have evolved in areas of visual display interface, sensors and connectors, electronic circuit systems and power source that are soft and durable to wear. Still, finding ways to integrate electronic components to soft materials for the consumer's market is one of the greatest challenges in wearable technology. With this study, one suggests that innovative practicians in related industries further research for great advancement of smart materials and technologies today.
