본 연구는 단순언어장애 아동의 개인화된 예측추론 수행 특성을 알아보고, 추론촉진과제 수행이 단순언어장애 아동과 일반아동의 개인화된 예측추론과제 수행에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 단순언어장애, 언어연령일치 및 생활연령일치 아동(총 66명)에게 개인화된 예측추론과제1을 실시한 다음, 그 결과와 기초검사를 토대로 각각 하위 두 집단(총 6집단, 각 11명)으로 나누었다. 각 두 집단 중에 한 집단은 추론촉진과제 중에 하나인 일반지식과제를 실시한 다음, 개인화된 예측추론과제2를 실시하였다. 나머지 한 집단은 추론촉진과제 중 나머지 하나인 전제회상 과제를 실시하고 예측추론과제2를 실시하였다. 결과: 1) 추론촉진과제를 시행하기 전 예측추론과제1의 수행에서 단순언어장애 아동은 생활연령일치 아동에 비해서 유의한 차이를 보였다; 2) 추론촉진과제 종류에 따라서 예측추론과제1의 수행에 비교하여 예측추론과제2(추론촉진과제를 실시한 후에 실시한 예측추론과제)의 수행을 분석한 결과, 단순언어장애 및 언어연령일치 아동은 추론촉진과제를 실시하기 전의 예측추론과제1의 수행에 비해서 추론촉진과제 실시 후, 추론촉진과제의 영향을 받은 예측추론과제2의 수행을 유의미하게 더 잘 수행하였다; 3) 오류유형 분석결과를 보면, 단순언어장애 아동이 다른 집단 아동에 비해서 ‘엉뚱한/빗나간 응답’의 오류유형 빈도가 특징적으로 높았다. 논의 및 결론: 단순언어장애 아동은 생활연령일치 아동에 비하여 개인화된 예측추론 수행능력이 부족하다. 언어연령일치 아동 및 단순언어장애 아동의 개인화된 예측추론능력은 추론촉진과제 실시 이후 향상되었다.

The purposes of this study were to investigate 1) the characteristics of personalized predictive-inference (PPI) in children with specific language impairments (SLI), and 2) children’s PPI depending on two inference facilitating tasks, a general knowledge task and a premises recalling task. Methods: Sixty-six children (22 SLI, 22 chronological age[CA]-matched, 22 language age[LA]-matched groups) were assessed with the PPI task. Each group was equally divided into two subgroups with the same characteristics in terms of the PPI performance, intelligence, and language age. One of the two subgroups had the general knowledge task while the other was given the premises recalling task. Then, all participants were assessed with the second PPI task. Results: First, the SLI group showed significantly lower PPI performance than that of the CA-matched group. Second, the performance of the second PPI task of the SLI and LA-matched children appeared significantly higher after performing the first PPI task. Third, the SLI children showed significantly frequent errors of unrelated responses compared with the other groups. Discussion & Conclusion: The results implied that children with SLI show more deficits in the PPI than other children. The inference facilitating tasks may be effective in improving PPI performance in children with SLI.
