비코와 후설의 비교연구

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Descartes reformed the sciences by trying to rightly use reason according to his philosophical methods. In my opinion, both Giambattista Vico (1668-1744) and Edmund Husserl (1859-1938) realized that reason in Descartes began to be used wrongly and to deviate from its right way to go. So they criticized and tried to overcome Descartes, by using reason according to their philosophical methods that are different from Descartes`s philosophical methods. In overcoming Descartes, Husserl was completely successful, but Vico was partially successful, and his thinking leaves uncompleted. Even though Vico was unsuccessful in completely overcoming Descartes, we can here see that Descartes is criticized by both Vico and Husserl. For that reason, I think that Descartes can serve as a medium for a comparative study of Vico and Husserl. I aim to attempt the same in this paper. The main objective of this study is to show that first, Vico`s thinking is phenomeno- logical in Husserl`s sense, and that he can be a pioneer of Husserl`s phenomenology. Second, Husserl`s transcendental ego is possibly the root of Vico`s thinking not found out by him; thus, his transcendental phenomenology can be seen as a completed form of Vico's thinking.
