본 연구는 경복궁에서 발견되는 전통 문양을 수학적 관점(군론(Group Theory)이나 결정학(Crystallography))에서 분류하였다. 본 연구에서는 경복궁 전통 문양 중 띠를 제외한 벽지 타입만 분류하여, 경복궁에서 p2mm, c2mm, p4mm, p6mm 구조를 확인할 수 있었다.
본 연구를 통해 학생들이 주변에서 수학적 요소를 생각해 보는 기회가 되어, 수학에 흥미를 느낄 수 있는 계기가 되기를 기대한다.

This study classifies what type of patterns in the Gyeongbokgung palace from a mathematical point of view in the Group Theory and Crystallography. In this study, only wallpaper classified except for the frieze in the Gyeongbokgung palace. The Gyeongbokgung palace analysis confirmed the p2mm, c2mm, p4mm, p6mm structure.
This study can be a great opportunity for students to consider the mathematical elements in the surroundings so that they can learn to feel an interest in Mathematics.
