근대 신문의 논설 텍스트와 서사 관계 = An Editorial Text Its Relation of the Narration in the Newspapers of the Modern Ages

국문 초록 (Abstract)

논설에 있어 서사의 ‘活用’은 논설이라는 글쓰기 공간에서 조우가 아닌 근대 계몽지식인들의 적극적 인식의 기반 아래 투영된 것임을 알아야 한다. ‘살려서 잘 응용한다.’는 활용의 의미 개념은 전대의 서사와 관련한 재조직이나 또는 그것을 기반으로 한 새로운 창의적 활용을 아우르는 글쓰기 지향도 포함하기 때문이다. 이에 정론적 논설에서 오는 일방성과 극단을 지양하는 새로운 의사소통의 영역이 생성되고 그 안에서 독자는 글쓴이와 교감하게 되는 것이다.
근대 신문을 근저로 형성된 논설의 문학적 장르는 현저히 구어체에 가까워진 문체적 특성과 표현의 현장성을 넘어 현실 인식의 과격성을 노출하고 있다. 논설을 통해 구현된 서사 속 인물들은 독자와 심리적 거리가 좁아서 현실적으로 자신의 행동을 돌아보게 하여 반성케 하거나 특정한 의식에 기반 하는 행동의 유발을 이끌고 있었다. 따라서 인물의 현실화가 가중되었고 생생한 현장감을 위해 문체의 구어화가 진행되었으며 동시에 목적성과 계도성을 드러내고 있었다.
한편 근대의 서술 양상이 아직 온전한 언문일치의 정도를 이루었다고 말할 수 없으나 신문은 미디어의 한 영역인 동시에 대중성을 고려하지 않을 수 없으므로, 여기에는 당시의 언어적 구현 양태나 문체 현상이 잘 반영될 수밖에 없다. 현실적 측면에서 당시 실현되는 언어를 서사 문학의 구현 구도로 사용하려는 시도는 이루어지고 있었다. 물론 이것은 표현의 측면에서 국문으로 된 것이기도 했지만 국한문혼용의 경우에도 대화의 생동감을 살리려는 서사 구현의 모습은 언어의 구어화와 맥락을 같이 하는 것이기에 대화체를 기반으로 형성된 구어체의 조명이 가능한 것이라 본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

It is important to know that the ‘practical use’ of a narration in the editorial was projected not on the basis of the encounter in the space of the writing, but of the active awareness of the intelligentia of Early Modern Enlightenment Ages. The reason is that the concept of the meaning of the ‘practical use’ of ‘Save and Apply it Well’ includes the reorganization associated with the narration of previous generations or the writing orientation encompassing the creative ‘practical use’ based on it.
Thereupon, the territory of new communication is generated going toward the one way or extreme coming from the reasonable argument editorials so that the readers are in communication with the writers in it. The literary genre of the editorial based on the newspapers of Early Modern Ages points out the radicality of the understanding of realities going beyond the stylistic characteristics remarkably approaching a colloquial form and the site of expression. The characters of a narration embodied in the editorial made the characters look back and regret his or her actions, or lead the induction of an action based on the particular consciousness. Consequently, the realization of the characters was increased.
It is unable to be said to accomplish the whole identity of the written and spoken language at that time. However, it has been made an attempt to use the actually fulfilled language as the literary embodiment of a narration. Certainly, this is composed of Korean language with respect to an expression. Furthermore, in the case of mixed use of Korean and Chinese characters, the appearance of a narration embodiment which tries to revive the sense of vividness is in the same context with the colloquialization of language, In this respect, it is possible to shed light on the colloquial language.
