The purpose of this study was to investigate Self-esteem, Perception of communication importance, Communication self-confidence and Problem solving skill and to identify the influencing factors on Communication skill of nursing students. Data were collected using questionnaires from 190 students who were 2nd years in the nursing university in Gwangju, March 2022. The collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression using IBM SPSS 21.0 program. The mean scores were as follows: Self-esteem; 3.07±0.50, Perception of communication importance; 4.45±0.42, Communication Self-confidence; 6.03±2.08, Problem solving skill; 3.55±0.52, Communication skill; 3.58±0.39. Communication skill was found to have significant positive correlations with Self-esteem(r=.439, p<.001), Perception of communication importance(r=.280, p<.001), Communication self-confidence(r=.405, p<.001), and Problem solving skill(r=.691, p<.001). The most influential factors influencing the Communication skill of nursing students were Problem solving skill(β=.602, p<.001), Self-esteem(β=.201, p<.001), Last semester grade(β=-.111, p=.031), and these factors explained 51.7% in Communication skill(F=68.388, p<.001). In conclusion, in order to enhance the Communication skill of nursing students, it is necessary to apply a program that improve the Problem solving skill and Self-esteem according to the level of individual learning achievement step by step.
